A former British army chief has said that the West should ‘consider all options’ when it comes to getting rid of Vladimir Putin.

Colonel Richard Kemp, who apparently led troops in Afghanistan, has urged NATO to look into every way to stop the Russian President and his invasion of Ukraine, reports the Mirror.

He reportedly said: “That would include killing him although it is not likely to be viable or desirable.”

The former army chief supposedly went on to say that other options are ‘highly unlikely to ever happen’.

He added: “The best thing would be to see Putin deposed, arrested and tried, either in Russia or criminal court.”

Kemp acknowledged that the idea of Putin’s assassination may seem incredibly unlikely, but insisted that it may be a necessity to save others.

“Life has no greater value than the lives of the thousands he has already murdered in Ukraine and elsewhere and may well kill in the future,” he reportedly commented.

Discussing the ‘legitimate target,’ Kemp continued: “He is the ‘Supreme Commander in Chief’ of the Russian forces who ordered an illegal war of aggression and is a legitimate target.

“Our government planned the assassination of Adolf Hitler in the Second World War. Had he been removed instead of appeased in the late 1930s we would not have suffered a conflict that killed 70million people.”

Last month, the Russian President sent out a chilling warning to the west about his plans for Ukraine.

Putin appeared on a TV broadcast on March 24 and stated that if anyone interfered with his invasion, there would be ‘consequences’.

He reportedly said: “To anyone who would consider interfering from the outside – if you do, you will face consequences greater than any you have faced in history.”
