Kanye West has slammed the #MeToo movement and defended his decision to work with Marilyn Manson, who has been accused of sexual assault and coercion by multiple women.

The father-of-four, who recently separated from Kim Kardashian, described it as ‘mob mentality’ and ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four mind control’.

He told Drink Champs podcast: “All the #MeToo – like, when I sit next to Marilyn Manson for five songs, you know, it’s like they can’t cancel a song.

“They’ll hit you with the accusations or somebody who you was with 10 years ago. And also, there’s women who’ve been through very serious things, pulled in alleys against their will – that’s different than a hug, but it’s classified as the same thing. It’s power and politics. You know, power-hungry maniacs and just, control.

“This is Nineteen Eighty-Four mind control that we in. And mob mentality.”

Manson was accused of a range of sexual offences earlier this year by actor Evan Rachel Wood.

She penned a statement on Instagram, which said: “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson.

“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.

“I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.

“I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.

“I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he ruins more lives.

“I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

Since then, four other women have come forward. However, he has denied all of the claims.

West received a backlash when he brought the musician out on stage during his live Donda event earlier this year.

According to reports at the time, the mother of his children, Kardashian, was not happy about it and a source insisted she wasn’t aware it was going to happen.

They told Daily Mail: “She wasn’t in the loop at all about what was happening at the show. She was only aware of what Kanye had asked her to do, and she was willing to help him.”
