Khloé Kardashian has been slammed after changing her son’s name.

Khloé, 38, rose to fame as a reality TV star on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and The Kardashians – alongside sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

The Good American co-founder has since used her family name to build her own brand and establish herself as a prominent figure in pop culture.

Khloé’s relationship with basketball star Tristan Thompson has seen a series of ups and downs, including cheating scandals.

However, they have navigated the challenges and continue to co-parent their children together.

Now, though, Khloé’s facing backlash for changing her son’s name.

According to reports, Khloé Kardashian has reportedly changed her baby’s surname to align with the father’s name.

Initially, Khloé had given her son the Kardashian family name but later decided to change it to match his sister, True Thompson.

After keeping the baby boy’s name a secret, Khloé finally revealed that he has been named Tatum Robert Thompson.

The middle name, Robert, was chosen in honour of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

An insider told the Daily Mail: “It took Khloé a little while to settle on the name but ultimately she went with Tatum Robert, which is in keeping with Tristan and True’s names starting with a T.

“Khloé wanted a name that was kind of unusual but not too out there and also keeping with the T theme.”

Khloé shares two children with Tristan, 5-year-old True and Tatum, who is 11 months old.

The cheating scandal negatively impacted Khloé and Tristan’s bond and these issues influenced Khloé’s decision when naming her son.

But sources close to the family have revealed to TMZ that Tatum, previously legally a Kardashian, now carries the surname Thompson.

The insider stated: “Khloé decided to drop the Kardashian name for Thompson, and that’s now Tatum’s legal name moving forward.”

The insider also mentioned that Tatum was not Khloe’s first choice for the baby’s first name, but it remains unknown what name she initially selected.

Fans haven’t reacted particularly well to the name change.

One person writes on Twitter: “Since they aren’t married and she’s the main caregiver, she should’ve used her last name.”

Another says: “She was upset he got someone else pregnant, gave him her last name. She’s no longer upset, she gave him Tristan’s last name.

“This is so petty. Is she going to keep switching last names whenever she’s mad?

“That’s a child, not a weapon to be wielded against Tristan.”

Others were less bothered by the news, with one stating: “Good. Both children should have the same last name, if at all possible.”

“Leave her alone,” someone else chimes in. “It’s up to her how she names her own child.”

Khloé and Tristan announced that they were expecting their second child together through a surrogate in July 2022.

This revelation came after Tristan impregnated his personal trainer, Maralee Nichols.

Maralee later gave birth to their son, Theo, and claimed that she believed Tristan was single and co-parenting when they first met in 2020.

She said: “I would never have gotten involved with Tristan if I thought he was in a relationship.”
