Peter Kay’s net worth has reportedly increased despite a three-year break from the spotlight.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Bolton funnyman is reportedly worth a whopping £50million and has established himself as one of the UK’s most wealthy comedians.

It’s believed that he has managed to cash in around £3,000 per hour, despite taking a hiatus in 2017.

As well as owning two firms with his wife, Susan Gargan, the 48-year-old is believed to have made his fortune through various TV shows, including Car Share, numerous appearances, and through his biographies.

And he’s not stopping there, as he recently announced a brand new autobiography is on the way.

As reported by Sky News, the comedian decided to publish a new book while making the audio recording for his bestseller, ‘The Sound Of Laughter’.

He explained: “Within the first few chapters of recording, I was inspired to start to write a third book.

“I had the idea about 10 years ago. All about working in TV. From when I started doing bit parts in Coronation Street right up to Car Share.

“It’s been a real joy recalling the memories. There’s over 20 years of stories about filming series like Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy’s Road To Nowhere.”

Plus, he hinted that it might not be the end for Max and Paddy.

During his Q&A comeback show at Manchester Apollo, Kay commented: “I loved making Max and Paddy, it was one of the best times we ever had filming and we had such a good laugh.

“We actually wrote two Christmas specials and then we never made them so you never know.”
