A diner visited Salt Bae’s new London restaurant and was left with an ‘eye-watering’ bill that has now gone viral.

The customer visited the Nusr-Et Steakhouse and ended up spending a whopping £1,812 on food and drinks.

On Twitter, they shared a screenshot of the receipt, which broke down the evening’s costs.

It revealed that just one steak was priced at £630, a rack of lamb was £200, and four glasses of Redbull cost £44.

As there were eight customers dining at the table, they were also slapped with a £236.40 service charge.

Unsurprisingly, it’s caused a huge stir on Twitter.

One person wrote: “Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for fine dining and good food but that’s just f***ing extortionate.”

Another added: “Someone, please explain the economics of a £630 steak?”

“You can eat so much better for so much less in London,” a third penned. “We went for Michelin starred dim sum and paid 1/8 of this! Even the bars and restaurants in Harrods aren’t this expensive.”

Although the majority of people slammed the prices, others argued that the costs are justified as diners are paying for the ‘experience’.

“Worth the dining and experience, 100%,” one Twitter user commented.

In agreement, a second said: “Going to this place is not about the food or eating. It’s about being seen to go.”

Salt Bae, otherwise known as Nusret Gokce, became a viral sensation back in 2017 after people became obsessed with the intricate way he seasoned meat.

Currently, the Turkish chef owns 17 restaurants and his establishments have been visited by celebrities such as David Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio.
