Shane Warne’s autopsy results have revealed the cricket legend’s cause of death. 

Thai police have confirmed that the 52-year-old died from ‘natural’ causes on March 4, while he was holidaying in Ko Samui, Thailand.

Deputy national police spokesman Kissana Phathanacharoen reportedly stated: “Today investigators received the autopsy result, in which the medical opinion is that the cause of death is natural.

“Investigators will summarise the autopsy result for prosecutors within the timeframe of the law.”

Australian MP Daniel Andrews has revealed that the country will hold a state funeral for Warne, following his tragic death.

On Twitter, he wrote: “I’ve spoken with the Warne family again today and they have accepted my offer of a state funeral to remember Shane.

“It will be an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to his contribution to his sport, to our state and the country.

“Details will be finalised in the coming days.”

News of Warne’s death was originally announced by the sportsman’s management team, who claimed that he may have suffered from a ‘suspected heart attack’.

The statement read: ‘It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Ko Samui, Thailand today.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.

“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

Many took to social media after the news was confirmed and paid tribute, including Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma, who penned: “I’m truly lost for words here, this is extremely sad. An absolute legend and champion of our game has left us. RIP Shane Warne… Still can’t believe it.”
