The Little Mermaid 2023 trailer has just dropped and it’s given fans a glimpse of Halle Bailey singing ‘Part of Your World’.
The upcoming live-action adaptation of the Disney classic film has been subject to controversy ever since its first trailer dropped.
From backlash over Bailey’s casting to the first footage receiving a high number of dislikes on YouTube, The Little Mermaid has faced a range of challenges.
However, a new trailer dropped during the 2023 Oscars and it’s given fans a better look at the upcoming movie and it certainly looks promising.

The Little Mermaid Live Action Cast: Who will be in the movie?
Bailey, who is one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, will be playing the leading role of Ariel.
Jonah Hauer-King – best known for appearing in TV shows World on Fire and Little Woman – will star opposite her as Prince Eric.
While Javier Bardem (Skyfall, No Country For Old Men) will play King Triton and Melissa McCarthy (Spy, Bridesmaids) will play the role of the scheming sea witch Ursula.
Daveed Diggs (Zootopia) and Awkwafina (Shang-Chi: The Legend Of The Ten Rings) will provide the voices for Ariel’s loyal sea friends Sebastian and Scuttle.
Who else is involved with The Little Mermaid?
The Little Mermaid will be directed by Rob Marshall – who is no stranger to working with Disney.
He has directed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Into The Woods and Mary Poppins Returns.
Marshall is also behind the musical film Chicago.
The songs in The Little Mermaid will be written by Lin-Manuel Miranda – who is behind iconic Broadway musicals Hamilton and In The Heights.
He also did the music for Mary Poppins Returns and Encanto, so the film is certainly in good hands.
The Little Mermaid Release Date: When is the movie coming out?
The Little Mermaid currently has a UK and US release date of May 26, 2023.
It will be available exclusively in cinemas, with no set home release date confirmed.
