Couple Mortified After Best Man Delivers ‘Best Punchline Ever’ During Wedding Speech
A couple was mortified when a best man delivered a wedding speech with the ‘best punchline ever.’
Speeches are an important and special part of any couple’s wedding day.
As well as being a chance to wish the newlyweds good luck for their future together, it’s also an opportunity to poke some harmless fun.
Some wedding speeches have been more memorable than others, and not always for the right reason.
For instance, one bride used the special day to expose her fiancé’s affair.
Instead of reading out a heartfelt and emotional speech, she read aloud racy messages between her partner and his lover.
One such saucy screengrab read: “This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.”
While another said: “Your body is f***ing incredible. And s**t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.”
Unsurprisingly, this day didn’t end with: “…and they all lived happily ever after.”
Another story went viral on Reddit in which a bride asked whether or not she was the ‘a**hole’ after cutting off a friend following their speech.
When it came to the wedding day speeches, the woman had a few rules, with one being: Don’t talk about the ’embarrassing’ way she met her partner.
Yet to her horror, the friend stood up and made a speech, sharing with the whole wedding party how she and her partner met.
“The room literally fell completely silent as my friend spoke,” she recalled.
The bride was apparently so upset she ended her wedding day early.
Unlike the Reddit user, one man’s speech had a wedding party in hysterics.
A Scottish couple named Gary and Kirsty were celebrating tying the knot with family and friends when the best man and groom’s brother, Derek, stood up to share a few words.
The clip, originally uploaded on TikTok, was captioned: “This could be the best punchline from a best man’s speech ever.”
Those who’ve watched the viral video can’t believe what the best man said, with one viewer writing: “The absolute fear in the groom’s eyes there. That’s when you know a speech is about to be good.”
Another adds: “I would die of embarrassment.”
“They will never live that down,” a third replies.
Derek’s speech began with a memory from one Christmas morning when he woke up to go downstairs and was greeted by a slap on the face from his mom, who said: “What did I tell you about bringing folk back here?”
The best man recalled: “‘I say, ‘What are you talking about mom, I’ve been in my bed the full night.’
“Obviously she’s not thinking about golden child next door.”
He continued: “So we’re in the living room opening a couple of presents, me, my mom, and my dad, and we hear rustling from the wee room in the auld house, as we called it.
“At this point, I go up the stairs, open Gary’s room, and there you have it, Kirsty, lying with her legs at ten to two. She certainly never came down the chimney in that position anyway. Merry Christmas, Kirsty.”
This last line of Derek’s speech left guests in stitches while the bride looked mortified with her hands over her face.
