Influencer Breaks Down Over Backlash To Baby’s ‘Different’ Name
An influencer is going viral after breaking down over the backlash of her baby’s ‘different’ name.
Liana Jade, 24, and her partner Connor Darlington are popular on YouTube and have over two million followers.
They vlog their day-to-day life and most recently, have been taking fans along on their pregnancy journey.
However, the name for their baby hasn’t gone down well and it has caused Jade to issue a response.
Watch the influencer discuss the ‘stupid things’ people have told her during her pregnancy below…
The pair welcomed a baby boy in July 2022 and named their son Koazy, which is pronounced as Cozy.
However, it’s been met with a backlash on social media and has also been discussed on The Unplanned Podcast with Matt and Abby Howard.
On the show, the pair call out all the unusual baby names as being ‘ridiculous’ and ‘out of control’.
In the episode, Abby says: ‘I’m gonna be honest with you, it does kinda bug me some of the names that are out there nowadays.
“So off the wall, I’m like, you know, your child is going to grow up and be an adult and potentially work in a professional setting.”

Matt adds: “I completely agree. If you name your kid a name that’s really cute for a kid, but then they don’t have a name that can be an adult name. That is scary.”
They didn’t initially reference Koazy’s name, but after someone brought it up in the comments, they went on to discuss it.
Jade has now responded to the backlash in a tearful TikTok post.
Addressing her eight million followers, she says: “I don’t know if I’m going to post this video. No hate but you might’ve seen that the couple Matt and Abby.
“I know it’s just their opinion but they posted a clip on their TikTok and their YouTube shorts that they pulled out of their podcast, and they were talking about people naming their kids new, original names.
“They were saying how ridiculous some of these new unique names were.”
She continues to explain the reasoning behind the name, claiming that it was already considered but was solidified when people were saying ‘he was cozy in your belly’.
Jade adds: “Because we already had that name and people were saying it and it was almost like, ‘Oh my god, it’s meant to be’ kinda thing.
“I wasn’t trying to name him anything for a flex.”

The influencer then details how the comments surrounding her son’s name have impacted her.
She continues: “It’s really upset me. I knew everyone wasn’t going to love the name so I’m not gonna sit here defending it.
“Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it’s just different when there’s this comments section open on such a big influencer’s video of people, fully grown adults, just sat there slandering my baby’s name.
“I think it’s quite cruel and if I posted that video personally and I was going to express that opinion that I had, I think I would be very mindful of who was being named and how that could have an effect on other people.”

Matt and Abby have since disabled the comments from their podcast’s TikTok and YouTube shorts video.
Many have come out to support Jade, with former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague commenting: “All that matters is that you and your partner love the name.”
Another person writes: “I honestly don’t know how people can attack babies!! I LOVE unusual names and I think Koazy is such an adorable name!!”
“Koazy is so cute. Don’t let them say that about him,” adds a third
Someone else says: “As long as you love his name who cares what anyone else has to say about it! I love Koazy and I bet he will too.”
