A woman who claims to be ‘addicted to marriage’ has admitted to tying the knot a whopping 11 times.

Monette Dias, who is based in Utah, recently appeared on the TLC show Addicted To Marriage where she opened up about her unusual fixation.

She explained: “I fall in love fast, and when I add it all up, I guess I’ve been proposed to twenty-eight times.

“But not one time did I go into a marriage thinking that it would end in divorce. Every single time I was like, ‘Please let this be ‘The One”.

“So, my whole life I’ve spent trying to force these men to live up to this elusive soulmate I have in my head.”

Previously, the 52-year-old has suggested that her Christian upbringing may be responsible for why she quickly gets hitched.

In a chat with New York Post, the interior designer said: “I was raised in a family where it was very Christian and you couldn’t have sex outside of marriage. And so in order to get that, I had to get married.

“I would be dating a guy for a couple of months, and when you can’t have sex they’re like, ‘Oh, let’s get married’.”

Despite not having much luck in the marriage department, Dias has insisted that she’s not given up on love.

She added: “Truly I totally believe in love. I believed every single one was ‘The One’. I still believe in love, I still have not gotten jaded. I kind of get caught up in the moment, I fall in love easily – obviously!”
