A Sports Illustrated model has claimed that a ‘followed her home by dropping an Apple tag in her coat’.

Brooks Nader, who has over 800,000 followers on Instagram, said she experienced the ‘scariest moment’ of her life when visiting a bar in the Tribeca district of New York.

She’s alleged that when at the venue, a stranger sneakily added the tracking device to her, and it allowed them to ‘track and follow’ her as she moved about.

Recalling the incident, Nader claimed: “Stupidly, I was walking home alone because I live in the neighbourhood around 11:30 pm. Once I was already on my way home – halfway home – I got a notification.”

Apparently, the notification said that an ‘unknown accessory’ was ‘moving with her’ and that whoever owned it, could ‘see her location’.

Concerned, Nader took to social media and asked her followers what exactly was happening.

She said: “I never share stuff like this but what the f*** does this mean? This ‘device’ followed me for the last five hours to every location and was no one in my ‘network’.”

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the model claimed she was ‘followed all the way home’.

She said: “Basically, my coat was on the barstool at the Odeon in Tribeca, which was my first location. I went to the bathroom [and] left my coat on the chair and that’s when I think someone slipped it in.

“They then followed me for five hours all the way home.”

Following the incident, Nader has once again taken to social media and called out Apple due to the ‘danger and potentially fatal consequences’.

According to Apple’s website, the tracking device purpose is to make it ‘super easy’ for people to ‘track their stuff’.
