Will Smith has reportedly broken his silence on Chris Rock’s Netflix special

Smith, 54, is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars and is known for his role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and films such as I, Robot and Men in Black.

Last year, he made headlines all around the world after slapping comedian Chris Rock, 58, at the Oscars.

It all started over a joke the comedian made about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, 51.

Now Rock has finally spoken out about the incident and reportedly, it’s left Smith feeling ’embarrassed and hurt’.

In the stand-up special, Rock insinuates that Smith has ‘selective outrage’, while also referencing Pinkett Smith’s affair.

He says: “His wife was f***ing her son’s friend. I normally would not talk about this s***…

“I have no idea why two talented people would do something that f***ing lowdown.

“We’ve all been cheated on. Everybody in here has been cheated on.

“None of us has ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us… on television. She hurt him way more than he hurt me.”

Entertainment Tonight sources have since said that Smith has been deeply affected by the comedy show, and reportedly wishes Rock would ‘let it go’.

Apparently, it has left him feeling ’embarrassed and hurt’.

However, it’s believed Smith hasn’t watched the special – but has just been informed of its content.

The Daily Mail reports that another source – close to Rock – has said this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple ‘I am sorry’.

“Chris never got a one-on-one private apology from Will, only the public one which really meant nothing,” the insider claims.

The source went on to say that Rock’s stand-up show isn’t meant to be seen as him seeking revenge.

If anything, it’s the comedian’s way of ‘getting it all out’.

Previously, Smith has admitted that he still loses sleep over the Oscars slap.

Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, he says he hopes his new film Emancipation isn’t affected by his ‘actions’.

He explains: “The only discomfort my heart has around that is that so many people have done spectacular work on this film.

“My hope is that my team isn’t penalised at all for my actions. I think [director] Antoine [Fuqua] and [cinematographer] Robert [Richardson] and Ben [Foster] and Charmaine [Bingwa] – everyone has done such spectacular work.”

Smith continues: “I definitely lose a couple winks of sleep every night thinking that I could have potentially penalised my team, but I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that everyone gets seen in the light that they deserve.”
