1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton’s husband has filed for divorce.

Slaton, 35, appears on the popular TLC reality show alongside her sister Tammy, 36.

Over the years, fans have gotten to watch Slaton and her husband, Michael Halterman, 40, start a family together.

However, their marriage has now come to an end.

The pair met in high school and dated for several years before they tied the knot in 2019.

They welcomed their first child, Gage, in November 2020 and their second son, Glenn in July 2022.

But less than a year after their son’s birth, Halterman filed for divorce.

A source close to the pair has alleged to The US Sun that the pair have been arguing for months, particularly over their son’s involvement in the reality TV show.

The outlet claims that Slaton wants her kids to continue featuring on the programme.

Halterman, on the other hand, is reportedly against this and doesn’t want his sons to be on camera at all.

The publisher also mentions that Slaton and her family feel that her partner is ‘lazy’ and is ‘jealous’ of all the attention that Slaton gives to their kids.

However, in court documents obtained by The US Sun, the reality TV star has reportedly filed for emergency protection against her ex-husband after allegedly claiming he was being ‘violent’ in their family home.

Slaton reportedly dialled 911 after she allegedly claimed her ex-husband started ‘throwing things’ during a heated argument.

According to the dispatch report, neither of them was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the officer arrived on the scene in the afternoon.

Neither were any arrests made.

The reality star reportedly filed an order for emergency protection on the same day.

According to the documents, the protection order was amended on March 8, which allegedly states that Haltermann is only allowed to have ‘supervised contact with [his] children’, as long as he is accompanied by his mother and sister.

It has also been reported that Slaton and the children have now moved in with her sister.

A source close to the 1000-lbs Sisters star tells The US Sun that she has been ‘struggling emotionally’ since becoming a single parent.

The insider also adds that Slaton has been ‘feeling overwhelmed’ despite the support she has received from her sister.

Meanwhile, her sister Amy has recently tied the knot to Caleb Willingham, who she met during her time in rehab.

He is currently working on getting transferred from a rehabilitation centre in Ohio to Kentucky to be closer to his wife but is currently experiencing some hiccups – which is apparently causing some problems in their marriage.

An insider close to the family tells The US Sun: “Tammy is sad her husband is not with her.

“She is frustrated Caleb has not made an effort to move to a facility in Kentucky from Ohio.

“They have been arguing because she feels he is not handling the transfer with urgency.”
