Netflix viewers have been left ‘scarred for life’ and struggling to sleep after watching its latest horror film

There have been plenty of movies for horror fans to rave about recently, from The Menu to the gory Terrifier 2, which left cinemagoers fainting.

Now, one of Netflix’s latest horror movies has got viewers on the edge of their seats and unable to sleep at night.

The new movie is going viral on social media and it’s even being compared to Jordan Peele’s hit film Get Out.

The Strays tells the story of Neve (Ashley Madekwe), a light-skinned Black woman struggling in London’s working class who abruptly runs away from all her problems.

Eighteen years later, she’s living a picture-perfect life in a middle-class, predominantly white suburb in the UK with her husband (Justin Salinger) and their two children.

She has a loving family and a fulfilling job as deputy headmistress of a private school. However, her meticulously crafted life of privilege unravels when two strangers suddenly appear in her quiet town.

The facade begins to crack as she keeps spotting the mysterious people in her suburban neighbourhood and she’s convinced don’t belong there.

The menacing sightings drive her to her wit’s end. But who are they? And are they really there?

Those who have already watched The Strays are taking to X, formally known as Twitter, and warning others to not watch it before going to bed.

“I could have been asleep. Don’t watch The Strays on Netflix,” one viewer warns.

Another adds: “If you’re trying to sleep well tonight, don’t watch The Strays right before bed.”

Somebody else writes: “Just finished watching The Strays on Netflix and I think I’m scarred for life because what the hell did I just watch!”

The Strays was straight up crazy, it gave a Get Out vibe,” a fifth person pens.

On YouTube, one fan writes: “Absolute masterpiece in every way. The story, casting, direction, light, editing, music, and sets, great job everyone!”

Another fan adds: “This gives me Get Out and Don’t Worry Darling vibes.”

Recently, people have also been talking non-stop about a brutal new horror film called The Outwaters, which is being dubbed the ‘next Blair Witch Project‘.

It follows four friends as they plan to make a music video out in the desert.

However, their plans are interrupted when they encounter unusual animal behaviour and weird vibrations.
