Pirates Of The Caribbean Producer Would ‘Love’ Johnny Depp To Return To Franchise
A Pirates of the Caribbean producer would ‘love’ Johnny Depp to return to the franchise.
Depp, 59, is one of Hollywood’s most recognised stars and over the years, he’s starred in numerous films including Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd.
He’s also known for playing Captain Jack Sparrow in the hugely popular Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
While fans have begged for the Corpse Bride actor to star in the franchise’s next movie, this is something he has previously ruled out.

During his defamation trial against ex-wife and Aquaman star Amber Heard, 36, Depp said he would never return to the role.
Heard’s attorney, Ben Rotterborn, asked Depp: “The fact is, Mr Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?”
In response, Depp replied: “That is true, Mr Rottenborn.”
Almost a year after the actor’s high-profile defamation trial, Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer, 79, has praised the What’s Eating Gilbert Grape star.

He tells Deadline: “He’s just so good at what he does and actors recover from things like this.”
Bruckheimer was prompted to discuss Depp when asked whether the actor could possibly return to the hit franchise.
Previously, the established film producer told The Hollywood Reporter that he would ‘love’ Depp to return to the series.
When asked whether the star would be invited back, he commented: “You’d have to ask them. I can’t answer that question. I really don’t know.”
But candidly, he then added: “I would love to have him in the movie. He’s a friend, a terrific actor and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.”
Last year, there were reports that Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is underway but with a new lead actor.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Bruckheimer revealed that two scripts were underway – with one including The Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie, 32.
“Yes. We’re talking to Margot Robbie. We are developing two Pirates scripts – one with her, one without,” he said.
However, this was then ruled out by Robbie herself.
Discussing the series with Vanity Fair, the Barbie star said: “We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led – not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story – which we thought would’ve been really cool, but I guess they don’t want to do it.”
