Amber Heard has claimed Johnny Depp began ‘hallucinating’ towards the end of their marriage.

The Aquaman star testified in the courtroom on May 16 that her ex-husband was ‘terrifying’ her in their final months together.

She claimed: “He was talking to people who weren’t in the room.

“It was terrifying. It was unclear to me whether he was even mad at me or he was convinced that the guy he said he saw me with was in the room.”

Heard then brought up her divorce from Depp, comparing him to a ‘monster’.

Continuing, the actress alleged: “I would have done anything but I couldn’t do that one thing, I couldn’t stay. The promise and the hope I had became less and less regular and more and more rare.

“I knew if I didn’t I’d likely not literally survive.

“I was so scared that it was going to end really badly for me and I really didn’t want to leave him, I loved him so much.”

Referencing Depp’s alleged ‘drug binges,’ the mum-of-one went on to claim: “The monster was now the thing that was normal and not the exception. The violence was now normal and not the exception.

“It was so hard but I knew I had to do it… What if he had taken it too far, I wouldn’t be here.”

Elsewhere in the trial, Heard slammed the suggestion that she got the Aquaman role because of Depp.

She made reference to this when her ex-husband’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, asked: “Johnny Depp got you Aquaman, didn’t he?”

In response, the 36-year-old testified: “I got Aquaman for myself.”
