Amber Heard has slammed claims that Johnny Depp got her the role in the Aquaman franchise.

The 36-year-old was being cross-examined by her ex-husband’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, when the suggestion was made.

She was asked by the attorney: “Johnny Depp got you Aquaman, didn’t he?”

In response, Heard claimed: “I got Aquaman for myself.”

Elsewhere in the trial, the actress alleged that she had to ‘fight really hard’ to keep her role as Mera in the franchise after filing a restraining order against the Pirates of the Caribbean star.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Heard testified: “I had to fight really hard to keep my career after I got my [restraining order against Depp].

“I lost opportunities. I got dropped from jobs and campaigns. I fought to keep my job and the biggest movie opportunity I had to date [with] Justice League with the option to [star in] Aquaman. I had to fight really hard to stay in Justice League because that was the time of the divorce.”

Heard claimed that she signed a contract with DC and Warner Bros. which involved the option of three films, including Justice League, Aquaman and Aquaman 2, with the latter reportedly involving her role being ‘pared down’.

She alleged that for the superhero sequel, ‘a bunch’ of her role was removed.

Explaining why, the actress claimed: “I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoiler aways, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role.

“They just removed a bunch out.”
