Jordan Peterson has branded the Albanese government ‘delusional’ after it revealed its climate targets.

In an article he published in The Daily Telegraph, Peterson said: “This by the way is a goal identical to that adopted last week by the utterly delusional leaders of Australia.”

He added: “Who additionally committed that resource-dependent and productive country to a 43 per cent plus decrease – by 2005 standards – in greenhouse gas emission within the impossible timeframe of eight years.

“This will devastate Australia.”

Peterson’s comments come after the Climate Change Bill got successfully passed in the House Of Representatives earlier this month.

This means that Australia will aim to reduce 2005 emissions by 43 per cent by 2030, and hopefully be ‘net-zero’ by 2050.

President Anthony Albanese reportedly believes that this will help secure the country’s safety, as well as open loads of new job opportunities.

He told reporters: “The impact of climate change is real. We need a response which is real.

“The government is offering that, and I’m pleased that it received the support of the House of Representatives.”

Peterson is not the only one opposing this new legislation, with one of their rival political parties, the Australian Greens, calling the new policies ‘weak’.

Opposing leader Adam Bandt told Sky News: “If they proceed, they will blow Labor’s weak targets.

“Even one of those projects would lift Australia’s pollution by up to 13 per cent.

“If 114 of those projects go ahead and Labor is currently backing them, Australia’s pollution could lift by an additional third from where we are now.”
