Khloé Kardashian has admitted that she struggled to ‘connect’ with her surrogate-born son.

The Good American co-founder has made her return to the screen in the latest season of The Kardashians, her family’s reality TV show on Hulu and Disney+.

In the trailer, it’s indicated that there’s a feud brewing between Kim and Kourtney, with tensions rising over Kim’s collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana shortly after Kourtney’s wedding featuring the same brand.

But the teaser also shows Khloé taking a moment to discuss her personal journey with surrogacy in the first episode of the new season.

During a conversation with sister Kim and Kourtney’s ex-partner, Scott Disick, Khloé expresses how different her surrogacy experience was from what she had been expecting.

Reflecting on the process, she shares that it was challenging for her, saying: “A surrogate process, Kim knows, it’s really hard for me.”

Kim acknowledges her sister’s struggle, agreeing that Khloé ‘had a really hard time accepting the whole process’.

Kanye West’s ex-wife goes on to highlight the profound difference between carrying a baby and having one through surrogacy.

She emphasises the unique connection a woman has with her baby, explaining: “The baby actually feels your real heart – think about it. It touches your organs.

“There’s no one else on this planet that will feel you from the inside like that – like, your heart.”

She adds that people can connect with their children in different ways.

Scott, who has children with Kourtney, then asks Khloé directly if she feels ‘less connected’ to her son Tatum – born in July 2022 – compared to her daughter True, whom she gave birth to naturally in 2018.

Khloé then nods and agrees.

Opening up further, The Kardashians star reveals that she had avoided confronting her emotions during her pregnancy, choosing to bury her ‘head in the sand’.

It was only when she went to the hospital that the reality of the situation truly sank in.

Khloé clarifies that her feelings have nothing to do with the baby, but rather with the sudden realisation and adjustment to the surrogacy process.

She also expresses feelings of guilt after her surrogate gave birth to Tatum, sharing: “I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby, and I take the baby, and then I go to another room and you’re sorta separated.

“It’s such a transactional experience.”

She then reflects on the importance of honesty when it comes to discussing surrogacy and acknowledging its differences.

Khloé wishes that someone had provided her with more information about the differences, clarifying that it doesn’t make the experience bad or good, just very different.

The Kardashians is available to stream on Disney+.
