McDonald’s has officially announced the return of the Adult Happy Meal following its huge success last year with Cactus Plant Flea Market.

The fast food chain is undoubtedly one of the biggest franchises in the world and is known for its mouthwatering burgers, fries and milkshakes.

But it’s also known for its Happy Meals, which is a kids’ meal that typically includes a small toy for children.

For many 90s kids, this is hugely nostalgic so it’s no surprise that fans have been left ecstatic at the news that a version for adults is coming to the menu in the form of a collab with Kerwin Frost.

So let’s find out everything we can about McDonald’s Adult Happy Meal return, from who is Kerwin Frost, what collectables will be available and when the new menu items launch:

Who is Kerwin Frost?

Kerwin Frost is the latest celebrity to collaborate with McDonald’s. He’s an artist and DJ from Harlem who is known for his work in the fashion and music industry.

Opening up about the collaboration and range of Adult Happy Meals collectables, he said: “Now, coming up with my own special set of Buddies – each one representing different aspects of self-expression – it’s unreal, a dream come true. McDonald’s has been a great partner from day one, and they’ve truly allowed me to create without limits.

“I hope the Kerwin Frost Box will serve as a reminder for people to hone their creativity and not be afraid to show the world who they really are.”

He added that when he was a child it was a ‘dream to collect all the McNugget Buddies’.

What’s inside the McDonald’s Kerwin Frost box?

The Kerwin Frost Box includes the choice of 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac, a medium World Famous Fries, a medium fountain drink and a special McNugget Buddy collectable.

What toys will be available in the McDonald’s Adult Happy Meal?

Each meal will come with a collectable toy based on the classic McNugget Buddies toys that any 1980s or ’90s kid will instantly recognise.

The McNugget Buddies were first introduced in 1988 as part of a limited-time Happy Meal featuring 10 different collectables.

Each one was unique and they had their own adventures and personalities – as well as interchangeable outfits for customers to play with and make their own.

Similar to the Cactus Plant Flea Market toys, the collectables will be inspired by the artist – with a major influence for the figures being Frost’s upbringing in Harlem.

Frost even has his McNugget Buddy, Kerwin Frost.

Other characters include Don Bernice, an experienced fashion designer who ‘creates all the outfits for the Buddies in Frost Way’ and Uptown Moe who is known for their motivational speeches.

Waffutu is a character who grew up in Frost Way and spreads positivity wherever she goes and can turn any frown upside down with the wave of a wand and tilt of a crown.

While BRRRICK is the cool guy who loves trying new things and techno music. He may be lowkey nervous, but he is always cool under pressure.

Finally, there is Darla – a soft-spoken yet peacefully confident singer who is also a McDonald’s manager.

Like the original McNugget Buddies, the outfits for these will be mix-and-match for customers.

When will McDonald’s Adult Happy Meals be available to order?

McDonald’s latest collaboration will begin on December 11 but if it’s anything like last year’s Adult Happy Meals, then you’ll have to act fast – the Cactus Plant Flea Market collab sold out ‘in a matter of weeks’, according to GQ.
