A mum ‘faked her daughter having a terminal illness for years so that she could rake in the donation money,’ according to reports.

Lindsey Abbuhl, 34, allegedly tricked thousands of people in Canton, Ohio, into believing that her daughter was suffering from a failure to the nervous system.

However, according to court documents obtained by The Canton Repository, the mum’s cover was blown when a medical expert conducted an examination.

Apparently, the woman told people that her child struggled to eat food, suffered from seizures, was extremely tired, and needed to take daily pain medication.

After being accused of faking the girl’s illness, she allegedly said: “[My daughter] sits in during her doctor appointments; she knows what’s happening to her.

“So calling me a liar is calling her a liar.”

During the time that Abbuhl carried out the elaborate lie, she managed to get free tickets to SeaWorld, be a guest of honour at a Texas A&M softball game, and make $4,500 (£3,200) from a GoFundMe page.

A complaint filed to the Children Services in Family Court allegedly stated that the mum also used her daughter’s ‘medical condition’ to obtain funding costs for housing and other expenses.

Since the ‘lies’ have been uncovered, Abbuhl’s daughter has been taken away by child services.
