OnlyFans has dropped its ban on explicit content following an intense backlash from its creators and users.
A statement was released by the company on August 25 confirming it has ‘suspended the planned October 1 policy change’.
It read: “Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.
“OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.”

According to Variety, the ban was initially announced after the company was forced to comply with the requests of its ‘banking providers and payout providers’.
However, when the ruling was made public, many people took to social media and blasted the decision.
One creator tweeted: “October 1st + OnlyFans = them losing a s*** ton of money and business.”
Another added: “I’m really upset about what I think the OnlyFans update in terms and conditions means. Is everyone else changing their sites over? if so, what are you all using?”
Many people have now taken to Twitter to celebrate the U-turn, with one person writing: “This was the right decision for your creators, bravo!”
Another added: This is a victory for all creators and sex workers.”
However, some users have vowed to cancel their accounts regardless and switch over to JustForFans which was ‘built exclusively for sex workers’.

The platform’s creator, Dominic Ford, told Bustle: “Unlike other sites that are ‘mainstreaming’ and further marginalizing sex workers, we are built exclusively for sex workers.
“Every decision we make is centred around how it will help models make more money.”
