Quentin Tarantino has called Peppa Pig the ‘greatest British import of this decade’

The Pulp Fiction director watches the iconic kid’s show with his two-year-old son Leo.

In an interview with Empire, Tarantino told the film magazine: “I actually do like Peppa Pig; I watch it a lot. I’ll say it – Peppa Pig is the greatest British import of this decade.”

This is certainly a far cry from what audiences are used to seeing from the 59-year-old Oscar-winning director, whose signature style of filmmaking usually involves violence, swearing, and dark humour.

He also spoke to Empire about recently sitting down with his son to watch their first film together.

Tarantino said: “I thought I was hitting a Minions cartoon, and I realise it’s Despicable Me Part 2. And he seemed to be interested in the opening credits, so I go, ‘Okay, I guess we’re watching Despicable Me Part 2′.

“We watched it for 20 minutes, until it was time for him to go to the park, and then the next day we watched another 15 minutes of it. And so, in the course of a week, in small bites, the first movie Leo ever watched was Despicable Me Part 2.”

Fans seem to think that the director named his son after Leonardo DiCaprio, who has starred in two of Tarantino’s films; Django Unchained and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

However, the director has ruled that out during an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show last year when he said: “We almost didn’t name him that because people would assume I named him after Leonardo DiCaprio.

“There’s nothing wrong with that, but… he’s named after my wife’s grandfather, but also because, just in our hearts, he was our little lion.”

Over the weekend, Tarantino and his wife Daniella Pick announced they have had their second child.

The couple welcomed a baby girl on July 2.
