Irwin, 18, often takes to TikTok – where he has a whopping 4.6 million followers – and shows fans a day in the life of a zookeeper.
However, Steve Irwin’s son decided to mix things up when he took to the social media platform and revealed his Halloween getup.
Watch Robert Irwin react to a fan asking for his number in the clip below…
In the viral clip, which plays music from The Office, Robert can be seen wearing a short-sleeved yellow shirt, a patterned blue tie and square-shaped glasses.
He says in the video: “Identity theft is not a joke. Millions of families suffer every year.”
The camera then switches to another man who adds: “Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.”
This is repeated in the caption, alongside the text: “Happy Halloween from Dunder Mifflin’s Australia Zoo Branch!”
The teenager was meant to be Dwight from the US version of The Office, as he wears a very similar outfit in the sitcom, but some fans got a different idea altogether.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. Happy Halloween from Dunder Mifflin’s Australia Zoo Branch!
Many of his followers took to the comments and blasted Irwin, believing he was dressed up as the killer.
One questioned: “Jeffrey Dahmer?”
Another added: “My guys dressed up as Jeffrey Dahmer.”
“Jesus dude, I got Dahmer vibes at first,” a third wrote.
While a fourth said: “Tell me he is not dressed as Jeffrey Dahmer on Halloween. Cause if he is then… bye.”
Fortunately for Irwin, the majority of fans got The Office reference and took to the comments to tell him they loved it.
“Guys he’s clearly dressed as Dwight from The Office and not Dahmer, have you guys not heard these lines before?” one penned.
In agreement, a second commented: “He literally quoted Dwight how can you guys be confused [about] who he’s dressed as????”
Someone else wrote: “How could ANYONE think that this sweet baby angel of a human being could ever dress up as Dahmer?! Good god.”
At the time of writing, Irwin has yet to address the confusion surrounding his Halloween costume.
Jeffrey Dahmer, who was nicknamed the Milwaukee Monster, killed 17 men and boys between the years 1978 and 1991.
Many have only just learnt the horrific details of his crimes following the popular Netflix drama Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, in which the killer is played by American Horror Story star Evan Peters.
As the show was such a huge success, many shared their concerns that over the Halloween period, people would dress up as the killer.
Taking to Twitter, the sportswoman fumed: “I’m just gon [sic] go ahead and say it, put the Jeffrey Dahmer costumes back in the closet.
“We ain’t having it!”
