Skins star Kathryn Prescott is ‘lucky to be alive’ after being hit by a cement truck, according to reports.
The actress, who played Emily Finch in the hit drama, collided with the vehicle while crossing the road in New York, claims her twin sister Megan.
On Twitter, her sibling penned: “I received the most terrifying phone call I’ve ever received in my life on Tuesday evening. My twin sister, Kathryn, was hit by a cement truck while crossing a road in New York on September 7th.”

Megan then revealed that her twin has had to undergo ‘complex surgery’ and sustained some life-changing injuries from the incident.
She continued: “After fighting through complex surgery some of Kathryn’s injuries include: broken pelvis in two places, both of her legs, her foot and her left hand. She is incredibly lucky to be alive. She narrowly avoided paralysis. The doctors are hopeful she will make a full recovery.”
In follow-up posts, her sister said it has been a struggle to get into the US and be by her sister’s side, due to Covid restrictions.
At this moment in time, non-US citizens are banned from entering the country. Megan did appeal to the US Embassy, but her application was denied.
In an attempt to spread the word, she took to Twitter once again, revealing she had been left ‘devastated’.
She fumed: “I am double vaccinated, I had a PCR test yesterday and can fly at the drop of a hat.
“I have documents from the hospital confirming the extent of Kathryn’s injuries and am willing to do anything to get to her as soon as humanly possible.”
The Prescott sisters became stars after appearing in series three of the award-winning show Skins.
In the programme, the pair played twins and they’ve since gone on to appear in other TV shows and films.
