1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton was taken to hospital after she ‘quit breathing’.
Tammy and her sister Amy document their gruelling weight loss journey as well as the goings on in their personal lives in their TLC reality TV series.
Having started the first series of the show with a combined weight of over 1000 lbs, the pair lost a dramatic amount of weight by the end of series three.
However, a trailer for the upcoming fourth series – which airs on January 17 – shows they’ve both still got a long way to go and it’s left fans concerned.

In a clip from the trailer, Tammy is seen being rushed to the hospital after she had ‘quit breathing’.
Amid the shocking scene, Amy can be heard saying that Tammy’s body had ‘shut down’.
As per People, Tammy was given a tracheotomy – a surgical procedure that creates an opening in the throat so that a tube can be inserted into the windpipe, allowing the patient to breathe.
This means Tammy can receive rapid breathing support should she need it in an emergency situation again.

Returning to shot and looking like her health had improved somewhat since her admittance to hospital, she exclaims: “I’m still here b*****s!”
In another scene, Tammy asks her doctor if she might be approved for bariatric surgery, which alters the digestive system and in turn helps people to lose weight.
However, the doctor is shown telling her that due to the risks involved, and that she’s currently too overweight, she wouldn’t be able to have the procedure just yet.
Dr Eric Smith tells her: “I told you Tammy, you have real risks.”
Tammy’s brother Chris interjects, saying: “If she doesn’t get the surgery, she’s gonna die because of her weight.”
In the last series, Tammy went back into rehab where she started a romantic relationship with her now-husband Caleb Willingham.
Despite things looking like they were on the up, her health continued to deteriorate.
Towards the end of the trailer, doctors are seen rushing to Tammy’s aid in the hospital and shouting that her ‘oxygen’s dropping’.
Her family are seen talking to her on a video call and becoming emotional, telling her that they’re scared she’s ‘gonna end up dead’.

However, on a TikTok posted by Tammy recently, fans have been stunned by her apparent dramatic weight loss since the last series aired.
Many of her fans took the comments to congratulate her on what she’s managed to achieve.

“Tammy you’re looking great!” wrote one.
Another added: “You’re looking fantastic Tammy. Hope you enjoyed the holidays.”
While a third said: “Tammy you are looking good! Can’t wait to watch the show.”
