TikTok star Teresa Smith has tragically died aged 48.

Smith shot to viral fame in August of 2023, after her unique duets with major pop singers began to attract a lot of attention.

Her renditions of Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ gained tens of millions of views, and her fans added their own duets to her cover version.

Smith grew up in Macon, Georgia, and always had a passion for music and singing.

As per Vulture, Smith ‘was trained by her mother and would perform with her brother as a child when her family hosted church services in their home’.

“I love the duet because singing is something that I am good at,” she previously told the outlet. “I love to hit high notes. I’m a powerhouse.”

Fans of Smith have now been hit with devastating news of her passing.

“It is with a heavy heart to announce that my mother The Icon, The Diva, Miss Teresa Smith also known as ‘Queezielocthevoice’ has suddenly passed away,” her daughter, Yolundria Rooks, shares on a GoFundMe page.

She continues: “Teresa has been loved by millions of family, friends and followers.

“I am now asking for help in this time of need for travelling expenses, funeral costs, and our move back to Georgia as we are STARTING COMPLETELY OVER as my mother has always wanted to go home to Macon, Georgia and be buried with her son Josiah Smith who passed away at the tender age of 15.

“I, as the eldest child will now be taking on full responsibility of all my younger siblings so anything that is donated beyond the funeral cost and expenses will be invested in them, their needs, and their future TO FINALLY LIVE A PEACEFUL LIFE, as my mother would wanted.

“Please keep me and my family in your prayers during this time of mourning more than anything. As I have to prepare and get ready to send my Queen home, I just want to thank all those who loved my mom and all of her followers for supporting her. Love you all, God Bless!”

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe page has raised $17,000.

“Rest in peace beautiful!” another comments. “So glad you don’t have to miss your son anymore.”

“I’ll miss seeing your TikToks on my FYP,” comments a third. “You brought me a lot of joy last year while I was going through tough times.”

Rooks tells TMZ the 48-year-old had been privately battling ovarian cancer that spread to her lungs.

Smith died at her home in Stockton, California, on February 14, surrounded by loved ones.

“I love TikTok for believing in me,” Smith had previously told Vulture.

“I love [it] when people sing and keep a smile on their face. It really makes me feel like I’m a blessing to somebody’s life.”

Rest in peace.
