Bob Saget’s family have confirmed the star’s tragic cause of death. 

A statement was released on February 9 to E! News saying the comedian died from an ‘accidental blow to the head’.

It read: “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma.

“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

Saget passed away on January 9 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida. At the time, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated that there was no sign of foul play or drug use.

After his death was confirmed, his family asked fans to remember the ‘love and laughter’ he ‘brought to the world’.

They said: “He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.

“Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”

Just a day before his death, Saget appeared on stage at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall near Jacksonville, and on Instagram afterward, he said he was ‘loving every moment’ of his comedy work.

The 65-year-old wrote: “I loved tonight’s show @pontevedra_concerthall in Jacksonville. “Really nice audience. Lots of positivity. Happened last night in Orlando last night at the Hard Rock Live too. Very appreciative and fun audiences.”

He added: “I had no idea I did a two-hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it.”
