Demi Lovato, who says they are a ‘UFO experiencer,’ claims it is derogatory to use the term ‘aliens’ for extraterrestrials.

The 29-year-old, who is non-binary, made the comments in an interview with Pedestrian.TV, while discussing their new docu-series Untitled, which follows them exploring UFO hotspots.

They said: “I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything.

“That’s why I like to call them ETs.

Lovato also revealed they don’t believe ‘ETs’ are harmful to humans.

“I really think that if there was anything out there that would want to do that to us, it would have happened by now,” the singer added.

“I think that if there were beings that could harm us, we would have been gone a long time ago.

“I also think that if there are civilizations that are of consciousness in other dimensions, which has given them the technology to be able to travel through space, I think that they are looking for nothing but peaceful encounters and interactions because like I said, if they wanted us gone, we would have been gone a long time ago.”

The star is joined by their sister and best friend in exploring the UFO hotspots across the US in the programme.

Speaking about their contact with extraterrestrials, Lovato previously told Entertainment Weekly: “The feeling that you get from these beings is so warm and loving and accepting, that it’s just overwhelming joy that happens when you’re able to make contact.

“I think they’re very caring, very intelligent beings that are just looking out for the best interest of our planet because we need some help.
