James Corden has defended Prince Harry over his decision to quit his Royal duties and leave the UK.

In a chat with US radio host Howard Stern on his show, the TV presenter said: “I cannot imagine any of it is easy.

“But I do not think any person in such a position in his life is easy. I have never really spoken about it to him in-depth.”

Corden then went on to say that he felt the Duke of Sussex must be going through a difficult time, as he’s constantly in the papers.

However, he insisted that his pal is happy and loving life.

Referencing Prince Harry’s feature on The Late Late Show, Corden said: “The Harry you saw on the clip we did on the open-top bus, that to me is a great reflection of the person I know.”

In Prince Harry’s new Apple TV series, The Me You Can’t See, he opened up about his mental health struggles and losing his mum at a young age.

At one point, he said: “My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, ‘Well, it was like that for me so it’s going to be like that for you.’

“That doesn’t make sense. Just because you suffered, that doesn’t mean your kids have to suffer. Actually quite the opposite.

“If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, you can make it right for your kids.”

He continued: “We chose to put our mental health first. That’s what we’re doing. And that’s what we will continue to do. Isn’t this all about breaking the cycle?

“Isn’t it all about making sure that history doesn’t repeat itself? That whatever pain and suffering has happened to you, that you don’t pass on.”
