A man from Australia has sparked debate online after revealing on TikTok that he had a vasectomy at the age of 22.

Gthewarlock, who uploaded the post, has said he made the choice after he decided that he did not want children when he is older.

In the video – which has been viewed more than 700,000 times – he explains that the doctor advised him against the procedure, however, he ignored this and went ahead with it.

One person replied: “Now this!! This is a man being considerate to women! Thank you sir.”

“Love to see men taking birth control into their own hands,” commented another user.

A third person said: “I love this! Thank you for sharing your experience!”

However, some people are concerned with his choice, as one commented: “Do you already have kids or did you decide you don’t want any?

“Because 22 seems super young to decide something like that.”

Another user replied: “Why would I in my 20s get one to still have risk of pregnancy for the next month up to a year only to reverse it?”

The TikToker did constantly reiterate in the comments that he does not plan on having children, and even if he did change his mind, the vasectomy is reversible.

He also broke down the process and how much it cost in his video.
