‘The Beast,’ whose real name is Mark Labbett, has issued a warning to The Chase viewers over contestants.

The quizzer took to Twitter on March 9 and urged people to ‘be kind’ to the competitors on the show who struggle with some of the questions.

He tweeted: “Please be kind to low ability contestants. They may have applied but the contestant research team, from thousands of applicants, knowingly selected them.

Watch the shocking moment ‘The Beast’ stormed off The Chase set and punched a wall in the clip below…

“Being cynical, a poor contestant is a huge equaliser for us. Everyone is entitled to apply, we are an every person show and proud of that.”

After seeing the tweet, one user took to the comments and blasted Labbett for saying some contestants have ‘low ability’.

They responded: “You say be kind then call contestants ‘low ability?’ Basically, you’re just sugar-coating calling them thick!”

To which Labbett replied: “Trying to be considerate. There is a case for arguing that the producers have a duty of care especially given the online abuse this show attracts.”

The comments come after the TV personality was branded ‘creepy’ for a comment he made to Carol Vorderman when she recently appeared on Beat The Chasers.

After her appearance, Labbett took to Twitter and said: “I don’t know what is more impressive about @carolvorders, her intellect or her more tangible assets #superstar #BeatTheChasers.”

Outraged by his comment, some users fumed that it was an ‘outdated’ thing to say, with one writing:  “Really? This is 2022, not 1972! A bit creepy and sexist.”

In agreement, another Twitter user added: “Bit inappropriate.”

After seeing the backlash the quizzer faced, Vorderman also took to social media and responded to Labbett’s tweet.

She said: “Well ‘The Beast’ and I are having a bit of a laugh over this as he is a good buddy of mine and we always take the mick out of each other.

“All hail ‘The Beast’ @MarkLabbett and thank you Bradders and the gang for such a great show.”
