A vegan wedding guest has slammed an ‘inexcusable’ meal option she was served at a recent reception.

The Twitter user, who goes by the username @herbiwhore, shared a snap of the dish alongside an eye-roll emoji.

She captioned the post: “Vegan option at a wedding.”

The post has since accumulated thousands of likes and fellow vegans have taken to the comments and dubbed the dish ‘rude’.

One tweeted: “That is absurd and rude – it almost feels deliberately so. Not cool and ZERO excuse.”

A second said: “I don’t understand why people get so upset about vegan food – I’m not vegan but often eat the food because I am dairy intolerant and it can be the only choice without dairy.

“It’s always beautiful, I’ve never been disappointed.”

“Man I’d have just left,” a third wrote.” When you consider how much weddings cost, venues are really lazy at catering for the guests with specific requirements. It’s not hard to make amazing vegan food, as was proven by the last wedding I attended. Was made to feel very special.”

Pitching in, a vegan commented: “What the f***? I’m sorry. That’s so wrong. Our wedding is going to be vegan. We will be FORCING vegan food on everyone.”

A fifth agreed, saying: “The struggle is real.”

After the post went viral, the Twitter user who originally posted the dish took to the comments and said: “I knew this was gonna happen so I Uber ate hip city veg and ate while I got ready.”

In response, someone said: “Weird [how] you knew it was gonna happen.”

To which she replied: “It happens pretty much at every family event.”
