A woman has gone viral after rewriting the lyrics from Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’.
Devon Cole, from Toronto, Canada, recently took to Instagram and said consent should be considered ‘sexy’ and she’s changed the popular song to prove it.
In the original hit, Thicke sings numerous lines about a woman ‘wanting it,’ including ‘that’s why I’m gon’ take a good girl’ and ‘can’t let it get past me’.

In Cole’s version, she sings: “Seems ya can’t hear what I’m tryna’ say. Goes in one ear, out the other way / Say you could go right now, but I’m not so inclined and you ain’t changing my mind.
“Okay now here we go, you’re flagging down the waiter / Just cos’ you paid for dinner, doesn’t mean I owe you a favour / Won’t have another round, could probably do without, oh did I let ya down?”
So far, the post has accumulated a whopping 145,000 likes and the influencer has received nothing but praise for the ‘powerful’ move.

One follower commented: “We’ve been needing this for years. F*** yes.”
Another added: “YES QUEEN! I bloody hate ‘Blurred Lines’! This is a great remake.”
“This song should be fully reproduced with alternative lyrics like yours!” a third pitched in. “It’s much more flattering this way.”
Joining in, a fourth said: “I always skip the Robin Thicke version because not only is the beat stolen but it’s also gross. Well done.”
Cole’s cover has even managed to catch the attention of the Women’s Equality Party, who’ve referenced the rewritten lyrics in their campaign for an affirmative consent law.
