AI has taken things to a whole new level by conjuring images of dead celebrities, showing how they would look if they were still alive today.
AI, short for Artificial Intelligence, is a revolutionary technology that enables machines to perform tasks that would previously have required human intelligence.
Crafted with the help of the highly successful AI system called Midjourney, a number of famous faces have been reimagined as though they had been ‘brought back from the dead’.
And it’s safe to say it’s got Reddit users talking.
So, let’s take a look.

Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson, drawing from his past experience with the undead in his ‘Thriller’ music video, might have had some familiarity with this AI concept.
However, fans are far from impressed with the portrayal of how he would appear if he were still alive today.
Midjourney’s depiction of the King of Pop has shown him with thick, long, slicked-back hair and prominent eyes.
Strangely, the rendered face hardly bears a resemblance to Jackson himself, leaving fans puzzled and intrigued by this imaginative portrayal.
Princess Diana
Princess Diana’s face remains one of the most recognisable and beloved worldwide.
Tragically, her untimely passing in 1997 deprived the world of witnessing her age beyond 36, leaving sadness and heartbreak among fans of the royal family.
Had she been alive today, AI predicts that Princess Diana would still possess her signature voluminous, wavy hair, complemented by regal jewellery befitting of a princess.
However, the rest of her appearance, sparked discontent among some, as they observed an unsettling resemblance to her former husband’s wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles.
Steve Irwin
Among the creations, not all were outright failures. Irwin’s older version managed to capture his hair, outfit, and cheerful persona.
Though, it must be acknowledged that the rendered eyes are somewhat disconcerting, diminishing the overall perfection of the representation it certainly raised a conversation among users.
One confused viewer drew a comparison between his appearance and the ‘shop owner from Frozen’, adding some humour to the reactions.
However, many others found the depiction satisfactory, with one heartwarming comment: “It’s a pleasure to see you again, Steve Irwin. Cheers mate.”
Freddie Mercury
The world undeniably suffered a significant loss with the passing of Freddie Mercury in 1991, a loss deeply felt by music lovers everywhere.
Imagining him alive today, it is pretty obvious to see that he would continue to radiate his commanding presence.
Interestingly, some Reddit users noted that an older version of him would bear a resemblance to Jeff Goldblum, further adding to his enduring allure.
River Phoenix
The sibling of the famous Joaquin Phoenix, River Phoenix, acclaimed for his role in Stand By Me and his Academy Award nomination, is a face that most of us instantly recognise.
Tragically, the star passed away 30 years ago, at the tender age of 23.
We can only wonder how he would have appeared today, in his mid-50s.
Remarkably, AI envisions him bearing a resemblance to the esteemed actor Gary Oldman, known for his role in Darkest Hour.
As impressive as the recreations were there was a huge amount of mixed reaction amongst Reddit users online.
One user wrote: “Most of these are way off.”
Another user seemed rather taken aback, adding: “Not gonna lie, some of these hurt.”
Whilst a third user commented: “AI didn’t know where to start with MJ.”
