American Idol star Syesha Mercado has claimed that her baby was ‘legally kidnapped’ by authorities.

The 34-year-old, who is already battling for the custody of her 18-month-old son, reportedly had her newborn daughter taken away on August 11.

According to Miami Herald-Tribune, her newborn is now with state protections.

Mercado and her partner, Tyrone Deneer, recorded the moment a court order was handed over.

Sharing the clip on Instagram, the singer wrote: “THEY TOOK OUR BABY AGAIN!”

In the recording, Mercado is shown begging to keep her child as she is still breastfeeding her.

She says: “How could you do this? Do you not feel anything?

“You guys, I’m human. This is my baby, my baby is just days old and you’re taking my baby away from me. You’re taking my baby away from me. You have no hearts. This is so wrong.”

She added: “You don’t care… my baby is healthy and happy.”

Allegedly, Mercado lost custody of her second child as she failed to mention she’d given birth during the legal battle relating to her son.

The original case reportedly began when the couple’s one-year-old, Amen’Ra, was submitted to the hospital. It’s believed he was struggling with the transition from breast milk to solid foods.

But after the treatment came to an end, Mercado claimed they ‘forcefully removed me from my son’.

In an Instagram post at the time, she penned: “They ripped me away from my proudest creation in life, pure joy, my SUNshine.”

According to NBC News, this isn’t the case and the hospital had concerns that the boy was ‘severely malnourished’.
