A couple with three kids has discovered that they are related after 17 years of marriage.

Celina and Joseph Quinones, from Colorado, began dating in 2006 and after a few months, they got married.

They’ve gone on to welcome three children.

And they’re now going viral after finding out they’re blood-related.

Find out what this couple has to say after being married for 65 years…

In a post on TikTok, which has been viewed 4.4 million times, Celina shares a photo of her and her husband on their wedding day.

Text on the image reads: “Married my husband in 2006. Had three kids and thought nothing of it.”

The post then transitions over to a screenshot from an ancestry site, which says shows that she and her husband have a match of 62 cM.

This a measurement used to determine genetic linkage and this means they share a relation from eight generations back.

The results suggest that they are between second to seventh cousins.

“Come to find out we were related and cousins,” text on the screen then goes on to read.

Celina clarifies that everything is OK between them and they have ‘looked past it’.

In the caption, she explains: “My kids and my husband are my everything and we looked passed it.

“All our kids have 10 fingers [and] 10 toes. It’s a good ice breaker lol.”

Many people have taken to the comments of the TikTok post and reacted to the information, saying that there is nothing to worry about due to how far back the lineage goes.

One person comments: “62 cM actually ain’t that bad, barely even related.”

Another adds: “70 cM is ridiculously far from being 1st cousins. There are probably 1000s of married people related to some point.

“This is in NO way controversial.”

A third viewer writes: “So fourth cousins?? Nothing to worry about I’m sure, I’d still be absolutely flabbergasted though.”

While Celina hardly acknowledges the comments, she has responded to one person who said they would ‘be embarrassed’ if they were the couple’s kids.

In a separate video, she shares a number of pics of their children and writes: “Never sir… you are disturbing… love is love.

“He loves me and I love him. You can live your whole life without realising you’re sinning.

“Love is love.”

The couple has also spoken to People magazine about how they found out and their initial reactions to the news.

Celina admits she was ‘a little depressed’ and even contemplated getting a divorce, while Joseph said ‘it was no big deal’.

She told the publisher: “Are we even supposed to be together? I started rethinking … and then after a while, I was like, ‘Nope, we’re just staying together’.

“There’s nothing we can do about it. I’m not going to let some blood come between us.”

She also admits that she did not expect their story to go viral and that she only shared the news on TikTok because it was ‘funny’.
