Jeremy Clarkson reportedly hit Piers Morgan after the journalist made an ‘unkind’ comment about his wife, it has been revealed.
Recalling the incident, which apparently took place back in 2004, he said: “At the 2004 British Press Awards I ran into Piers Morgan, who said something unkind about my wife.

“So, even though I was calm and sober, having just come from a recording of Call My Bluff, I hit him.
“And immediately a gang of portly hacks gathered round, chanting, ‘finish it,’ while the motoring editor of The Sun held everyone back by warning them that he was from Newcastle.”
Before making the claim, Clarkson said Smith hitting Rock was made more ‘likely’ by the fact they were at award ceremonies, adding: “Trust me. I know.”
It’s believed that the 61-year-old’s feud with Morgan began brewing before even he allegedly hit the journalist at the 2004 British Press Awards.
According to reports, they initially began disagreeing when the ex-Good Morning Britain presenter published a photo of Clarkson with a woman who wasn’t his wife – at the time, Morgan was a newspaper editor.
Apparently, the incident led to a huge fallout and in the following year, Clarkson reportedly poured water over the journalist’s crotch during the last-ever commercial Concorde flight.
Years later, in 2014, Morgan reportedly addressed their feud in his column for the Daily Mail. Supposedly, they aired out their disagreement by having a five-hour drinking session.
Since then, the pair have been spotted together in Saint Tropez and they even did a charity special of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.
