Piers Morgan has slammed Adele as ‘shameful’ and claimed ‘she’s crossed a line’ in his latest MailOnline column.

The former Good Morning Britain host has accused the ‘Easy On Me’ singer of ‘flogging’ her eight-year-old Angelo’s privacy on her upcoming album, ’30,’ which will be released on November 19.

Hitting out at her new record and her sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, he wrote: “Has she given a moment’s thought to how Angelo might feel when he grows up to have had his agonising conversations with his sobbing mum about her decision to dump his dad broadcast to the world?

“She’s crossed a line by exposing her young son’s innermost feelings to public scrutiny in such a soul-baring, intimate way.

“And worse, she’s done it for attention, money, and sales.

“Sorry, Adele – but I find that shameful, and given all your pleas for privacy, horribly hypocritical.”

He’s not the only person to take aim at the singer this week.

Loose Woman panellist Janet Street-Porter dubbed her a ‘self-important musical Meghan Markle’ and accused her of ‘portraying herself as an unhappy misery,’ despite her luxury lifestyle.

She wrote in her column: “Adele has earned a fortune from portraying herself as an unhappy misery.

“Now she’s one of the most famous people in the world with a multi-million-pound fortune isn’t it time to button up, to let the songs speak for themselves, to spare us the back story, the intimate details about a failed marriage – especially when we are only hearing one side of the story?”

She added: “Adele is everywhere, telling us about the ‘struggles’ that fired her songwriting; about the fact she’s got a framed bit of Celine Dion’s chewing gum in her house and wicker chairs in her garden.

“Blah blah blah. Anything to shift product.”
