It’s Officially Singles Awareness Day, So Treat Yourself

Valentine’s Day is officially over for another year and it’s now time for Singles Awareness Day!

For those that don’t know, the national event encourages singletons to show themselves some extra care and self-love.

Some people choose to treat themselves to a gift or binge a boxset on Netflix, guilt-free.

If you’re looking for some inspiration as to how you can spend it, here are some suggestions:

Avoid cooking and cleaning

It’s not truly a day of putting yourself first if you have a list of duties you feel need to complete. Although you can’t wine and dine yourself while out due to COVID-19 restrictions, you could always order a takeaway, and that way, there are little to no pots to wash!

Unwind with meditation

Although it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, processing your thoughts and feelings is always a great step to a healthier mind. With apps such as Headspace and Simple Habitat available, why not connect with yourself on a spiritual level?

Give yourself a spa day

It might not be the spa day of your dreams, but giving yourself a DIY facial or a mani/pedi is the chance to give yourself that much deserved loving you deserve on the outside too.

Make it a movie night

There’s no better time to binge on all your favourite films then why you’ve dedicated an entire day to yourself. It’s the perfect opportunity to watch that Netflix series you’ve had your eye on. Or failing that, a classic that never fails to put a smile on your face.
