Emma Watson is rumoured to have ‘secretly retired from acting’ after over 20 years in the industry.

According to reports, the Harry Potter film star wants to put her career on the back burner so that she can focus on her relationship with her rumoured fiancé Leo Robiton.

A source told Daily Mail: “Emma has gone underground, she is settling down with Leo.

“They’re laying low. Maybe she wants a family.”

At the age of 10, Emma was thrust into the limelight when she was cast as Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter franchise and she went on to star in all eight films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

After filming wrapped up, she landed roles in The Bling Ring, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Disney’s live-action of Beauty and the Beast.

In 2019, she landed a lead role in Little Women which earned five British Academy Film Award nominations and two Golden Globe Award nominations.

Emma was also considered for the role of Mia in the hit 2016 musical La La Land, which ultimately ended up going to Emma Stone who went on to win the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Opening up about her decision to turn it down with SiriusXM, Emma said: “It’s one of these frustrating things where names get attached to projects very early on as a way to kind of build anticipation or excitement for something that’s coming before anything is really actually agreed or set in stone.”

She added: “[Beauty and the Beast] wasn’t a movie I could just kind of parachute into.

“I knew I had to do the work, and I had to be where I had to be.

“So, you know, scheduling conflict-wise, it just didn’t work out.”
