Jaden Smith has been slammed for making ‘cringe’ comments about his parents, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, following his dad’s Oscars slap that has thrust the family into the headlines.

A resurfaced clip from 2018 shows the 23-year-old addressing his family’s fame in an interview with radio host Big Boy.

He said: “My parents always told me that I could fly. My parents always told me that I could, you know, dig a hole to the next side of the earth.

“I would always ask them if I could do things, they would always say yes.”

Smith then claimed he spent ‘more time with adults’ than people around his own age, adding: “I am very happy that I spent my childhood with more adults than I did with kids my age.

“Because I was picking up more things from adults than I was from kids my own age.”

The rapper went on to claim that when conversing with peers, he would prefer to chat about more mature things.

At the time, he said: “I’m just like, dude, like oh my God, like can we talk about the political and economic state of the world right now?

“Can we talk about what’s going on with the environment? Can we talk about other things?

“Don’t worry, I like to turn off, I like to flex, I like to play songs loud and jump in the crowd in Atlanta. But, you know, I’m always looking for that next thing. I’m not satisfied at just like a party.”

The comments sparked ridicule amongst Reddit users, who blasted him for being out of touch.

One wrote: “This kid understands the real world like Kim Kardashian understands working hard.”

“Cringe-tastic,” added a second.

Pitching in, a third remarked: “Talking politics with Jaden Smith must be a nightmare.”
